MUS 133 - Class Piano III 2 Credit(s)
Prerequisite(s): MUS 132 or equivalent piano experience.
Course Description: Provides group instruction for beginning and intermediate piano. Focuses on the development of basic piano skills, note-reading, rhythm, scales, chords, and the introduction to related musical concepts. Contents and expected learning proficiencies of this course may vary from term to term. Course may be repeated for 6 credits total.
Course Level: Lower Division Collegiate
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Develop and display basic piano skills.
- CLO#2: Demonstrate ability to read and play piano music of difficulty appropriate for skill level. (ILO: Communication)
- CLO#3: Develop ability to accompany simple songs by choosing appropriate chords and chord patterns.
- CLO#4: Demonstrate facility with simple scale patterns and chords using proper fingering and technique.
