ART 277 - Sculpture II 3 Credit(s)
Prerequisite(s): ART 276
Course Description: Continues study of sculptural materials, techniques, and concepts. Project exercises provide experience in modeling, casting, carving and fabrication processes with a special emphasis on self-expression and concepts. Assignments establish a conceptual format within which to explore creative ideas - the course emphasizes hands-on working experience in a variety of media. Projects are short-term in duration with work in greater complexity, size, and more demanding materials reserved for more advanced coursework. The emphasis is on accomplishment of a diversified experience. Lectures and films provide historical and technical information and students are expected to do outside research.
