Course Description: This is the second term of a three-term algebra-based physics course. Special relativity and electromagnetism are covered. This includes but is not limited to spacetime diagrams, time dilation, length contraction, conservation of four-momentum, electrostatics, fields, current, voltage, circuits, magnetism, induction, Maxwell’s equations and electromagnetic waves. Students must enroll in lecture and laboratory. Both sections are required and to be taken concurrently.

Course Learning Outcomes:

CLO#1: Use vectors, algebra, dimensional analysis, and logical reasoning to solve general physics problems. (ILO: Quantitative Literacy and Reasoning)
CLO#2: Solve general physics problems by making reasonable assumptions and simplifications when information is incomplete.
CLO#3: Apply the principles of special relativity and electromagnetism.
