Course Description: Students will understand the aftertreatment systems implemented on modern diesel engines and why they became a requirement. This will include an understanding of each sub-system and their responsibility for emission reduction. Students will gain hands-on experience in the maintenance of the aftertreatment systems and various troubleshooting performed.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Explain the implementation of the aftertreatment systems and why it became a requirement.
- CLO#2: Describe each of the aftertreatment sub-systems and their function. (ILO: Critical Thinking)
- CLO#3: Perform troubleshooting of aftertreatment sub-systems using the appropriate resources.
- CLO#4: Perform maintenance of the aftertreatment sub-systems.
