Course Description: Provides the theory of diesel engine operation. Responsibility of engine sub-systems. Demonstrations of valve lash and geartrain adjustments and symptom-based troubleshooting.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Evaluate characteristics and thermodynamic analysis of common internal combustion engine cycles.
- CLO#2: Describe each of the sub-systems of a diesel engine and their responsibilities. (ILO: Critical Thinking)
- CLO#3: Perform valve adjustments using the proper service literature.
- CLO#4: Demonstrate Service Literature and Service Bulletin usage for symptom-based troubleshooting.
