DH 204 - Dental Radiology 4 Credit(s)
Prerequisite(s): Successful admittance to a Dental program.
Corequisite(s): DH 204L
Course Description: Prepares students for Dental Board Exams. Students will study the following sections: radiation safety for the patient, radiation safety for the operator, exposing and evaluating radiographs, processing films, mounting and labeling radiographs, and techniques used in performing a full mouth radiologic exam. Course is dual-numbered as DA 201 .
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Describe and discuss the clinical operation of the X-ray machine. (ILO: Quantitative Literacy and Reasoning)
- CLO#2: Identify anatomical structures, development anomalies, and disease of the oral cavity.
- CLO#3: Describe standards for radiograph exposure and viewing, and explain their application in dental practice.
- CLO#4: Describe the clinical management of patients and their dental records.
