Course Description: Prepares students for the written examination for state board licensure and practical demonstration interviews. Reflexology, side lying massage, massage tools, trigger point, deep tissue, and myofascial release techniques will be covered.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Follow industry standard expectations for hygiene, sanitization, and professionalism.
- CLO#2: Demonstrate the safe and effective use of massage equipment, supplies, draping, and bolstering across various massage techniques.
- CLO#3: Perform a variety of massage techniques to meet clients’ needs, including Swedish massage, reflexology, deep tissue, myofascial release, proprioceptive neuromuscular, trigger point, and stretching techniques. (ILO: Critical Thinking)
- CLO#4: Demonstrate good communication skills with clients before, during, and after treatment that ensures consistent client care.
- CLO#5: Conduct a professional exit interview to discuss session outcomes and assess treatment effectiveness.
