MET 104 - Machine Shop Math 3 Credit(s)
Prerequisite(s):
MTH 60 or MTH 102CT or designated placement.
Course Description: Covers calculation, layout, and procedure standards in applied topics in manufacturing and machining technologies. An understanding of mathematical concepts is stressed in all topics ranging from general arithmetic processes to oblique trigonometry, compound angles and numerical control.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Apply mathematics in a variety of manufacturing and engineering applications.
- CLO#2: Correctly solve analytic geometry problems involving trigonometry.
- CLO#3: Apply deductive reasoning to verify mathematical arguments. (ILO: Quantitative Literacy and Reasoning)
Typical Required and Recommended Equipment and Materials: Graphing calculator (TI-83, TI-83 Plus, or TI-84 Plus), graph paper, pencil, paper, and notebook.
