Course Description: Provides an overview of communication from an intercultural perspective. Students will learn how culture impacts social identities, communication behaviors, and meaning. Fulfills cultural literacy requirement within the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer degree.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Analyze opposing viewpoints on controversial subjects and participate in group discussions with ideas, suggestions, and perspectives.
- CLO#2: Demonstrate interpersonal skills in small group activities.
- CLO#3: Compare viewpoints on a controversial subject and incorporate divergent cultural perspectives. (ILO: Communication)
- CLO#4: Analyze information about social and/or organizational systems and communicate the results.
Typical Required and Recommended Equipment and Materials: Course using Blackboard and students will be given regular homework assignments, exams, papers, and projects.
