Course Description: This capstone course provides students with the opportunity to integrate and apply knowledge, skills, and values developed throughout the Human Services program. Students will reflect on their academic learning and practicum experience and demonstrate professional readiness through culminating projects and presentations. Emphasis is placed on professional identity development, career readiness, and critical thinking that bridges theory with real-world practice.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Demonstrate core helping skills-such as active listening, attending, appropriate questioning, and specified interviewing techniques-through recorded interview projects and accompanying written analysis. (ILO: Communication)
- CLO#2: Integrate academic and field-based learning to demonstrate skill development, professional identity, and career readiness in the field of Human Services.
- CLO#3: Apply critical thinking to integrate academic and practicum experiences with counseling techniques and interpersonal skills.
