WLD 166 - Welded Sculpture II

Prerequisite(s): WLD 165  

Course Description: Builds on skill sets developed in Welded Sculpture I. Use and application of advanced forming tools, CNC Plasma table, pattern development, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding and hot forming techniques will be some of the techniques and processes used in this class. Design styles like art deco, grunge and psychedelic art will expose students to differing views of this medium. These styles will then be applied to various student projects.

Course Learning Outcomes:
  • CLO#1: Perform all tasks in accordance with accepted industry safety standards
  • CLO#2: Differentiate between design styles (e.g., art deco, minimalist, grunge, etc.) in relation to their application in welded sculpture projects. (ILO: Critical Thinking)
  • CLO#3: Apply advanced fabricating and metal forming techniques.
  • CLO#4: Utilize material finishing techniques for specific projects.
