PE 185BC - Bootcamp

Course Description: Students will have the opportunity to develop/increase cardio, endurance, strength, flexibility, mobility, and stability through various group exercise activities. Each class begins with a dynamic warm up for all major muscle groups. Workouts will include activities such as TRX, circuits, dumbbells, step, cardio, barbell training, stability balls, battle ropes, kettle bells, jump ropes, and various forms of high-intensity interval training (HIIT). Each class will end with a cool down comprised of static stretching which will include yoga and Pilates, and focus on breathing, alignment, myofascial release and relaxationCourse is repeatable.

Course Learning Outcomes:
  • CLO#1: Apply principles of proper form and alignment while working out.
  • CLO#2: Demonstrate improvement in one or more of the following categories of body composition: (a) greater flexibility, (b) increased cardio-respiratory endurance (c) improved lung capacity (d) increased muscle strength and endurance (e) reduced fat percentage and/or measurements.
  • CLO#3: Utilize proper stretching, warm-up, and cool-down techniques to prevent injury and promote recovery.
  • CLO#4: Present a short routine or specific exercise for working a muscle or muscle group. (ILO: Communication)

Length of Course:
