Course Description: This class walks learners through the finishing process of machine tooling. Using the surface grinder and precision inspection equipment to achieve proper dimension, surface finish, perpendicularity, flatness and parallelism.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Describe use and care of the Granite surface plate.
- CLO#2: Demonstrate proper care and use of precision measuring equipment.
- CLO#3: Accurately surface grind a part to square and parallel. (ILO: Critical Thinking)
- CLO#4: Demonstrate proper dressing, sharpening, and balancing of surface grinder wheels.
- CLO#5: Demonstrate proper safety practices in the lab.
