Course Description: This class walks learners through machine tooling, which is comprised of high-speed steel, carbide, carbide insert tooling, drills, taps and sharpening. All of which are consumables in nature.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Identify tooling by specification.
- CLO#2: Evaluate appropriate tooling for a variety of materials. (ILO: Critical Thinking)
- CLO#3: Demonstrate proper use of drills in the machine shop.
- CLO#4: Accurately sharpen drills and cutting tools.
- CLO#5: Demonstrate proper safety practices in the lab.
