DH 251 - Restorative Dentistry II 3 Credit(s)
Prerequisite(s):
Successful completion of the first four terms of the Dental Hygiene program.
Course Description: Continuation of Restorative Dentistry I, provides students with the opportunity to practice restorative techniques, moisture control with rubber dam isolation, placement of amalgam restorations, and matrix and wedge placement on typodonts.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1 Demonstrate placement of a cavity liner or base.
- CLO#2 Recall and evaluate anatomy and morphology of a tooth when placing an amalgam restoration.
- CLO#3 Distinguish and examine the challenges with Alginate impressions. (ILO: Critical Thinking)
- CLO#4 Demonstrate intraoral/extraoral photography.
