MFG 241 or permission of Instructor.
Course Description: Introducing Mastercam CAD/CAM software with training to design parts and toolpaths for a modern CNC vertical machining center, with a primary focus on Haas machines. Emphasis is on proper geometry creation, manipulation and management of toolpaths, relevant utilities and C-hooks, terminology, and toolbar and menu functions. Safety and efficient machining will be stressed throughout the course.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Create 2d wire frames in Mastercam for milling toolpaths.
- CLO#2: Apply Mastercam software tools to create machinable toolpaths per blueprint specs.
- CLO#3: Apply programming techniques in Mastercam to produce G-Code. (ILO: Critical Thinking)
- CLO#4: Apply proper set-up techniques to prepare machine for G-Code.
- CLO#5: Demonstrate safe and proper shop practices while operating CNC equipment.
Typical Required and Recommended Equipment and Materials: Flash drive, 8 Gig minimum recommended.
