MET 101 - Mechanical Drafting 3 Credit(s)
Course Description: Introduces manual mechanical drafting techniques. Focuses on drawing layout, dimensioning standards, and sectional views through a series of practical problems.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Identify the proper use of drafting tools and material.
- CLO#2: Apply graphic symbols, line construction, and basic blue print drafting rules for presentation.
- CLO#3: Produce accurate and legible blueprint drawings.
- CLO#4: Recreate images based on visualizations to communicate an idea using freehand sketching presentations. (ILO: Communication)
Typical Required and Recommended Equipment and Materials: Pencils: 4H, 2H, HB (2 of each kind), Triangular Square, Triangles: 45, 30-60 degrees, Eraser, Erasing Shield, Desk Brush, Templates (large and small circles), Bow Compass (8 or 9”), one roll masking tape and a lettering guide.
