Course Description: This course provides community college educators with practical and progressive techniques on what to do inside and outside the classroom to help students succeed. These practices and strategies can be applied to both in-person and online learning formats. Additionally, this course covers basic tools for navigating instructor responsibilities at Rogue Community College.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1: Create an inclusive environment that promotes respectful interaction and meaningful connections, incorporating strategies such as community building and collaborative learning.
- CLO#2: Design effective instruction by utilizing backward design, employing strategic macro and micro planning, and integrating inclusive and flexible practices to meet diverse learner needs. (ILO: Critical Thinking)
- CLO#3: Employ effective active learning practices and leverage technology to promote student engagement, autonomy, and reflective learning.
- CLO#4: Design formative and summative assessments that align with learning outcomes, and develop tools to provide feedback, encourage self-reflection, and support peer assessment.
