Prerequisite(s):

Registered Apprentice with the South Central Oregon Sheet Metal JATC.

Course Description: This course teaches apprentices how to choose appropriate hangers based on weight, load requirements, and specific applications in the sheet metal industry. This course also covers and reinforces The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) set of standards for industry.

Course Learning Outcomes:

CLO#1: Compare and contrast gauge, hanger types, and spacing of hangers.
CLO#2: Apply SMACNA rules to HVAC duct construction.
CLO#3: Apply SMACNA rules to sheet metal flashing design. (ILO: Quantitative Literacy and Reasoning)
