AM 210 - Mechanical Careers Development

AM 111  and AM 120  

Course Description: Introduces students to career paths available in the automotive industry such as service advisor, parts professional, service management skills, and expectations related to professionalism. Includes communication in the workplace, effective employee/employer relations, and job search skills. Course is for second-year students only.

Course Learning Outcomes:

  • CLO#1: Describe the industry standards for professionalism.
  • CLO#2: Develop the tools and strategies needed for a successful employment search including cover letters, resumes, and interviewing skills. (ILO: Communication)
  • CLO#3: Use effective communication skills when interacting with vehicle owners. (ILO: Communication)
  • CLO#4: Follow proper vehicle check in procedures. (ILO: Information Literacy)
