Prerequisite(s):
Successful completion of the first five terms of the Dental Hygiene program.
Course Description: Continuation of Restorative Dentistry II. Includes dental hygiene diagnosis as a key component including assessment of data collected, along with the consultation with the dentist and other healthcare providers. The dental hygiene diagnosis comprehensive plan includes restorative, cosmetic, and oral health needs.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1 Demonstrate and assess the fabrication, primary try-in, and cementation of a temporary crown.
- CLO#2 Model the placement of a cavity liner or base prior to placement of an amalgam restoration.
- CLO#3 Summarize the steps in proper placement of an amalgam restoration.
- CLO#4 Analyze and differentiate between the different treatment plan options. (ILO: Critical Thinking)
