DH 201 - Dental Hygiene Theory IV 2 Credit(s)
Prerequisite(s):
Successful completion of the first year of the Dental Hygiene program.
Course Description: Introduces dental hygiene students to the characteristic of individual patients, motivations, and management of patients with specific challenges. Includes the treatment of the compromised patient and myofunctional therapy.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1 Identify and analyze the needs of infant, toddler or pregnant patient.
- CLO#2 Describe the dominate theories of aging.
- CLO#3 Describe and breakdown the psychological responses of patients and dental professional.
- CLO#4 Discuss and demonstrate dental hygiene care for the mentally impaired patient. (ILO: Communication)
