Prerequisite(s):
Acceptance into the Dental Hygiene program.
Course Description: This course studies the anatomical structures of the head and neck regions and relates these structures to the clinical practice of dental hygiene.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO#1 Explain and identify the anatomy and muscular system of the head and neck and their functions.
- CLO#2 Demonstrate and construct the anatomy and function of the temporomandibular joint.
- CLO#3 Locate and explain the anatomy and physiology of the glandular tissue, nervous system, and the lymphatic system of the head and neck.
- CLO#4 Explain and illustrate the fascial spaces and blood supply of the head and neck.
- CLO#5 Synthesize information acquired in a critical, scientific and effective manner. (ILO: Critical Thinking)
